MACEDON (ROMAN PROVINCE). Aesillas, quaestor, circa 95-70 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 32 mm, 16.73 g, 12 h), uncertain mint in Macedon. MAKEΔONΩN Head of Alexander the Great to right, with horn of Ammon over his ear; behind to left, Θ. Rev. AESILLAS / Q Money chest, club, and chair; all within laurel wreath ending in a monogram of AT. AMNG III 222. Bauslaugh Group II (O7/R26). SNG Copenhagen -. Very rare with the monogram on the reverse. A lightly toned, perfectly centered and very well struck example. Extremely fine.
